Well, we are finally home after a trip of about 30 hours. It was no good. We pulled up to our quiet little house around 1 am and crashed. There is a lot to say about our trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado and we certainly had a wonderful time. Over the next few days, I will post pictures and tell you all about it in three easy installments.
A Happy Wedding and Baby Video - 09/15/09Some of you may remember our great friend Kouji from previous posts, or hell some of you have even met him! You probably know him as “Axel” because that’s what everyone calls him. He goes by that handle because Guns and Roses is his favorite band in the whole world. Anyway, Axel got married to a lovely young lady named Hitoe last weekend. Awesome!
Bottom Biting Bug - 09/08/09Here’s a piece of prime children’s entertainment.
The Value of Flashing - 09/08/09I found this on a shirt today so I had to take a picture.
Hugh Jackman Gets Groped - 09/05/09This is from a show called “Ii Tomo” that’s on every weekday afternoon out here in good ‘ol Nippon. Hugh Jackman makes an appearance to promote “Wolverine” when some dude decides to… well, you’ll see.
A little Enka! - 09/04/09Here’s a little Enka for you. This genre of music is very popular amongst older people and in rural areas. Needless to say, here in Asagiri which is both rural and bursting at the seams with old people, Enka is very, very popular.
I like Chinese - 09/02/09Yesterday, I was talking to a Japanese friend while walking down the street. We were just shooting the breeze when we passed by two Chinese ladies. The two ladies were chatting away in Chinese of course. After we passed them, my friend smiled and said, “Ching chang, ching chong” and giggled. I couldn’t help but giggle either but not because I think Chinese accents are funny. I giggled because it was a strange, surreal experience to hear a Japanese guy make fun of a Chinese accent in exactly the same way an American would.
Napping and Bitching - 09/01/09My schedule is totally ruined. I am a man of little character; I am easily distracted by shiny objects and have no will. Actually, I have a very strong will. My will lies somewhere within my bowels. It shouts at me from time to time, but I ignore it. It shouts, I ignore it and that creates a cognitive dissonance that keeps me in a perpetual state of inaction.
